The Socorro Independent School District invites students, parents and employees to participate in its biannual Socorro ISD Campus Climate Survey to evaluate the district’s strengths, and areas that need improvement.
Climate surveys allow schools to celebrate strengths, monitor changes, and respond to areas of challenge in their efforts to build a positive, safe, and self-renewing culture that maximizes student learning. The Climate Surveys also provide the district with data to help measure progress and maintain accountability on objectives outlined in the District Improvement Plan.
“We always appreciate feedback from students, parents, teachers and staff,” said Superintendent José Espinoza, Ed.D. “A positive school climate goes hand-in-hand with student achievement, and we want to ensure that SISD provides world-class customer service for all stakeholders to achieve greater levels of future success.”
Surveys are available for parents, campus employees, elementary students (grades 3-5), and middle school students (grade 6-8) from Feb. 4 to Feb. 15 and for high school students (grades 9-12) from Feb. 4 to March 1. Surveys will be administered online and are available in English and Spanish on the district website, www.sisd.net/climatesurvey.
SISD last administered a Campus Climate Survey in 2017 with nearly 39,000 individuals participating. The overall survey results demonstrated Socorro ISD stakeholders’ pride in their school district and appreciation of Team SISD’s commitment in ensuring student safety, a supportive and rigorous learning environment, and high morale.
