Sierra Medical names chief operating officer

Sierra Medical Center announced the appointment of Matthew T. Caldwell as chief operating officer. He previously served as COO at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. In 2006, he was the vice president of patient care services at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.

Caldwell received a master’s degree in health-care administration from UT-Arlington. He also has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. Caldwell is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Sierra Medical Center is a 351-bed acute care hospital that offers a full range of advanced medical services to El Paso, and to the outlying communities of West Texas, southern New Mexico and northern Mexico.
