In response to Secret Wherrett’s article about Robocalls, I would like to point out another way that these annoying calls are affecting our lives that you probably never thought of. Many times when I call patients before or after cataract surgery to discuss their treatment, they don’t answer the phone. Then when I see them in the clinic or surgery center they tell me they didn’t answer because they assumed it was a telemarketer. I hope that one day we will find a good way to block these intrusions into our lives so that important calls can make their way through.
