Veterans on the pandemic front lines

On Veterans Day, The Hospitals of Providence honored the 200 veterans who work across the El Paso health network. Marcela Jimenez served int he Army as a medic and now works as a telemetry nurse in the emergency department set up in a tent outside of the East Campus. an El Paso native, she says she reaches out to the family members of COVID-19 patients by phone and video call 'to help them with the fear of not knowing and to make sure they know I am there. They are not by themselves; I've got them.'
