Early voting begins with record turnout

El Pasoans formed long lines at polling sites across the city on the first day of early voting Tuesday, including at Marty Robbins Park, pictured above. Almost 19,000 people voted in person in El Paso County on Tuesday, shattering records for the first day of early voting, El Paso Matters reported. Also on Tuesday, Jill Biden, wife of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, spoke in El Paso at the University of Texas at El Paso as part of an effort to boost early voting turnout in Texas. The Sun City was her first stop on a Texas tour that included Dallas and Houston. Early voting runs through Oct. 30. Election Day is Nov. 3. Information: EPCountyVotes.com.
