More than 500 businesspeople, public officials and community leaders attended the Better Business Bureau Paso del Norte’s first Awards for Excellence ceremony May 15 at the El Paso Convention Center.
The Gold Standard of Trust Award was presented to Pioneer Services and Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry and Watches; Integrity Award to Integrating Engineering Solutions and Pioneer Services; Customer Commitment Award to Flores, Tawney & Acosta law firm and CareFree Homes; New Business Spark Award to Floor Coverings International El Paso; Nonprofit Award to Lee and Beulah Moor Children’s Home; and Outstanding Employee Award to Tina-Marie Hew Len Castro with Hospice of El Paso.
The BBB also recognized the winners of its student video contest. It received 111 entries from students who created short videos advertising the BBB’s Scam Tracker at bbb.org/scamtracker.
In El Paso, first place went to David Hernandez and Isaiah Anthony Chavez from Montwood High School. In Juárez, first place went to Luis Antonio Leon Alfonso, Jose Maria Peralta Beltran and Omar Fernando Lopez Oropesa.
