El Paso will soon join cities like Chicago, Denver, and Seattle as home to a “Greetings From…” mural.
Artists Victor Ving and Lisa Beggs, who travel in their RV painting murals in cities as part of their Greetings Tour project, were in El Paso last week.
They were working on their custom “Greetings From El Paso” mural that’s part of a developer Will Harvey’s project called The Substation at 145 Sunset Drive.
Local artist Dave “Grave” Herrera coordinated the El Paso stop. The mural showcases unique El Paso landmarks like Hotel Paso del Norte, Asarco, the Star on the Mountain, the El Paso streetcars, UTEP and Southwest University Park.
The mural is expected to be finished next week, and then it will be kept under wraps until its official unveiling, expected to be sometimes in early 2017.
