a Across the street from TI:ME, work continues on the Montecillo development’s 20-acre entertainment district, called Montecillo Town Center. It will be anchored by El Paso’s first Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

The company that owns the Austin chain, Triple Tap Ventures, announced Wednesday that it has started hiring for its El Paso management team.

The theaters are known for their hip, urban style, “trained ninjas” who serve moviegoers food and alcoholic beverages, and strict no-texting policy during movies.

Featuring eight screens and 840 seats, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in El Paso will also present special outdoor events, independent film and other unique programming. It’s expected to open next summer.
