For me, no holiday combines as much fun in one package as the Fourth of July. There are cookouts, parades, and when the sun goes down, fireworks. Just saying the words “Fourth of July” makes me smell hotdogs on a grill and feel grass under my feet. This year, GECU is sponsoring three days of Fourth of July fun that make America’s birthday party last a little longer and shine a little brighter.

When we’re talking about all-American activities, cheering at the local ballpark comes in pretty high on the list. Add in fireworks, and you’re looking at some serious Independence Day celebrating.

GECU is sponsoring the fireworks displays at the El Paso Chihuahuas games on July 2 and 3. We’ll also have a booth at Southwest University Park both days with special Fourth of July giveaways, while supplies last. There will also be face painting and lots of family-friendly fun.

On July 4, Music Under the Stars returns to Chamizal National Memorial with a literal bang. Join us for the Fireworks Spectacular with the El Paso Wind Symphony playing all the patriotic hits. Charcoal grills and blankets are welcome at the Chamizal, and there’s plenty of grass for everyone to stretch out on. Fourth of July at the Chamizal is an El Paso tradition, and GECU is proud to sponsor the 33rd season of the summer music series. Food trucks and vendors will be on hand and GECU will have giveaways available while supplies last.

“Family, food and fun – what could be a better way to celebrate July Fourth?” says Crystal Long, president and CEO of GECU. “Whether it’s a ball game, a concert or both, we invite you to join us this Independence Day weekend. There’s plenty of fun for everyone to enjoy”

This July, however you choose to celebrate Independence Day, we wish you a safe and happy holiday. Of course, we’d be delighted to see you under the fireworks next weekend at the El Paso Chihuahuas or Music Under The Stars. Happy Independence Day!
