Harkins

President Donald Trump has appointed Jayne Harkins to serve as the U.S. commissioner of the International Boundary and Water Commission. Harkins is the first woman to lead the commission, which is headquartered in El Paso. She previously worked as executive director of the Colorado River Commission of Nevada and spent 27 years with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The commission is responsible for applying the boundary and water treaties between the U.S. and Mexico and settling differences.
