Graffiti-style ‘Locos’ logo debuts

The El Paso Locomotive FC, which will have their inaugural game on Saturday, are now officially “Locos.”

The USL team on Thursday unveiled its alternate brand, “Locos,” featuring a logo that “pays homage to the artistic styling often seen on rail cars throughout the country, with an ode to the Locomotive and train motifs surrounding the team,” according to a press release.

The graffiti-style logo is emblazoned across a red brick background.

“Even before we announced the team name, we knew the ’Locos’ was going to become the unofficial name of the team. We wanted this brand to be an expression of that fun, enthusiastic attitude we think our team and fans exude,” General Manager Andrew Forrest said.

Merchandise is now available in the Locomotive Southwest University Park Team Shop on Santa Fe Street.

Tickets for the inaugural game against OKC Energy FC on Saturday are sold out, but tickets for the remainder of the season games are on sale, including the Saturday, March 23 game against regional rival Rio Grande Valley FC.

If you missed out on tickets, you can catch the match with KVIA Channel 7 and El Paso-Las Cruces CW, which will broadcast all Saturday and Sunday home matches during El Paso’s inaugural USL soccer season. The broadcast team is led by media and sports veterans Duke Keith and Michael Bolagun.
