What better way to experience Downtown than making your way through a five-course meal at five different restaurants – all in one evening.

The El Paso Downtown Management District is hosting its fall Downtown Eat Authentico! Restaurant Crawl, presented by TFCU, from Sept. 25-27.

“Any event that we do we want to answer the demands of the public,” said Rudy Vasquez, marketing and communications manager for the DMD. “The goal is always to get people to experience Downtown.”

Among the public wants was that the restaurant crawl be held more than once a year – leading the DMD to hold its second Authentico! event this year. The first was held in the spring and attracted some 80 participants.

Here’s how it works: Participants are gathered in groups of up to 15 people, who then head out to try appetizers, main dishes and desserts at five pre-selected Downtown eateries. The group walks to each restaurant within a certain time slot, and is accompanied by a host.

This crawl features stops at The Tap, Basico Bistro Café, Rockstar Burger Bar, Pot Au Feu and Anson 11.

“This isn’t a formal tour or history lesson. It’s just about enjoying Downtown and meeting new people,” Vasquez said.
