Before the El Paso Chihuahuas, a Double-A baseball team called the El Paso Diablos was the hottest thing in town. The team hit its stride in the early 1990s, and fame included the cover of National Geographic magazine. But it wasn’t easy – before or after the national attention. On Saturday, June 15, former Diablos owner Jim Paul is the guest on “The El Paso Radio History Show” with Jackson Polk and Melissa Sargent. He’ll talk about what it took to keep the Diablos afloat, and El Paso history from his unique perspective. The only live radio program about El Paso history airs from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday on News Radio 690 KTSM. For information, visit EPHistory.com.
