Good news, Tesla owners! You no longer have to take your Model X, Y, S or 3 to Phoenix for service. The company that makes all-electric cars has opened a brick-and-mortar location on Walter Jones Boulevard, just north of El Paso International Airport.
Tesla says its cars don’t need a lot of maintenance, but the service center reflects the growing number of owners in the region.
Owners can schedule online, through a phone app or make a call. Service is by appointment only. Owners can also request mobile service at their home or office.
And did you know there is a Tesla supercharger station at Rudy’s BBQ on South Desert Boulevard?
We’re No. 9!
El Paso is on the list of the top 10 U.S. cities for Hispanic entrepreneurs, according to WalletHub, the personal finance website. The Sun City is ranked ninth overall.
When WalletHub measured just the share of Hispanic-owned businesses, El Paso came in at No. 1.
To determine the rankings, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities using 24 key metrics. Other Texas cities in the top 10 are Laredo, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Amarillo.
What would you watch?
You probably saw reports that the ABC program “What Would You Do?” recorded a segment in El Paso a few weeks ago. The segment, which focuses on how El Pasoans react to immigrants being bullied, was expected to air May 10 on KVIA Channel 7. But it’s not on ABC’s program schedule just yet. We’ll keep checking.
A crew of about 30 people, including actors, filmed the segment in Mac’s restaurant in Downtown El Paso. They also recorded a scenario at Mesilla Valley Mall in Las Cruces, and visited White Sands National Monument.
Kickpin, the shoe boutique that sells the coolest kicks – but only a few times a year – is open for business this weekend. The teenage Frank brothers, Drew and Jamie, say their pop-up store will be open Sunday, May 5 from noon-6 p.m. They won’t open again until August.
This weekend, Kickpin is selling Missing Link Air Maxes, Jordan 4 Bred, Dog Walker Nikes, hats, bags and a lot more merchandise at 5860 N. Mesa, Ste. 112.
Mother’s Day is coming up, you know.
